Vegetables

The basic premise of our Vegetable program is to create a strong, mutually beneficial relationship between us, the farmers, and the community we serve and are a member of. Today, most people don’t know where their food comes from, whether the soil is being cared for, or if the food they buy is even good for them. Food is sold primarily through large retailers whose only concern is price and availability. For the farmer this means that if they have a bad season, they can be replaced by another farmer, and in order to compete in a large commodity market, they have to cut every corner they can in order to make ends meet. Furthermore, farming is a risky business with many factors outside of the farmer’s control. A farmer makes many investments long before a crop can be harvested. In return, customers have an opportunity to get to know the farmer, see whether the farmer is using good practices, and receives the freshest, highest quality produce directly from the farmer shortly after being harvested.
